Historic cemetery In August of 1895, the cemetery on Milton Road was given as a free burial ground by Thomas K. Norman to the Milton Methodist Episcopal Church. The trustees maintain the right portion of this cemetery and The Milton Cemetery Association maintains the left side.

All repairs and cemetery care of our side was done by church volunteers and Troop 49 Boy Scout projects. A sign at the cemetery entrance asks for donations to keep this historic cemetery maintained. We appreciate and thank all those who have, over the years, given of their time and monetary support. As volunteer members declined, it was necessary to pay a church family to take over this job. They have opened the cemetery for Memorial Day, cared for it during the season and prepared it for winter.

The cemetery is a walk back into the history of the church. They find that very few grave sites are visited now and in looking at our Book of Records, even those in charge of the plots are deceased and their families moved away. Plots are no longer available. Help with funding is needed. They are reaching out for any suggestions those of you interested in this historic cemetery might have.

These are the plots listed in their records: Charles and Harrison Acker-son, Miller Allison, C. Bish, Sidney Castimore, Herbert and William Chamberlain, Andrew Cook, Amos Crane, Albert and James Davenport, Earl and John Do-land, Albert, Gilbert and John Dunn, Harry Egbert and William Headley, James and Oscar Jennings, Ed Kane, Fred Lawrence, Abraham Little, George Mac Donald, Edward McCormack, Jacob Moore, E.J.
