18 FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2013 AIM JEFFERSON OBITUARIES Henry "Hank" Merz Oak Ridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to "Hank Merz Memorial Fund" and mailed to: PBA Local 190, 1032 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. Hank was currently employed by Jefferson Township Police Department as a 911 dispatcher. He was the owner and operator of HDM Automotive Machine, Dover, NJ for over 25 years. Loving husband, proud father, devoted grandfather, brother and friend. He gave self-lessly. His sarcasm and sense of Lifelong Jefferson Township resident Henry "Hank" Merz died suddenly on February 15, 2013.

Hank was born February 29, 1952 in Dover, NJ. He was a Boy Scout and altar boy. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School, was a standout athlete and attended Clemson University. He was previous Captain of the Beyus; grandchildren: Elias, Try-na, Abigael, Kane, Cavan, Lena, Hayden, Fintan, Rhealyn, Ney-land, and Graham; great grandchild: Elianna; siblings: William Merz, Kathy Dockray, Patricia Murphy and Suzanne DiBernard. At his request, a celebration of his life will be held at the American Legion Post 423, 28 Legion Road, humor will be sorely missed.

Hank enjoyed riding and rebuilding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed adventures, trips and camping with his family. Survived by loving wife of 42 years and high school sweetheart, Deborah Tresslar Merz; daughters: Lori Merz, Kerrie Merz, Janeen Merz Doyle and Amanda Merz interesting and unique items. This season the Shoppe is featuring organic specialty foods and vintage glassware and gift items. An interesting assortment of handcrafted soaps, and other items are perfect for gifts.

The Shoppe is now carrying handcrafted cameos from a local artist. The Shoppe is located in the Jefferson Township Museum, 315 Dover-Milton Road. It is open during Museum hours which are the first Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information or group shopping, contact the Shoppe manager The Jefferson Township Museum, located at 315 Dover-Milton Road, is on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. For further information, refer to the Jefferson Township Historical Society website at 5050 Raffle for Challenger League The Junior Woman's Club of Jefferson Township is sponsoring a 5050 Raffle to benefit the Challenger League.

This local organization provides athletic sports opportunities to children with disabilities who would otherwise not have the chance. Tickets are $1 each and will be on sale until March 6, 2013 at various events and locations throughout town including AJ's Country Cone. Winners will be drawn March 6, 2013 at the Town Council Meeting at 7 p.m. Winners need not be present. The winners of the raffle will split 50 percent of the proceeds as follow: first place 25 percent, second place 15 percent, and third place 10 percent.

Jefferson Museum Open House The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlin House, will have an open house on Sunday, March 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. Costumed docents will give tours of the museum at that time. Admission is free.

The theme of this month's exhibit will be "Put on your Easter Bonnet" with vintage accessories such as hats, gloves, artificial floral corsages, feathers, shoes, scarves, fans, on display. The Jefferson Township Museum, located at 315 Dover-Milton Road, was entered into the National and State Registers of Historic Places. Be sure to visit Miss Elizabeth's Shoppe located in the original kitchen of the Museum, where small antiques, collectibles, handmade and handcrafted items will be offered for sale. Miss Elizabeth's Shoppe reopening Miss Elizabeth's Shoppe is located in the Jefferson Museum's restored kitchen and will be reopening on March 3.

If so, Safety Town is just the thing for your soon-to-be kindergartener! The Junior Woman's Club of Jefferson Township is offering Safety Town, a fun two-day safety education program, for children entering kindergarten. We have something for everyone. The children will learn about the many aspects of safety through fun and entertaining presentations, games and projects. Some of the program highlights include fire, traffic, bicycle, electrical, animal, water, poison, stranger danger and 911 safety.

Each program will be staffed by Junior Woman's Club members with special assistance from other community volunteers such as police, fire and first aid. This program is open to all students entering kindergarten in September, 2013. Safety Town takes place at Milton School in Oak Ridge on Schoolhouse Road. The program will run for two days starting on June 25 to June 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm.

The fee for Safety Town is $30 which includes a T-shirt, snack and printed materials for your child. Registration for Safety Town will take place during kindergarten registration from March 4 through March 8 at Milton and Briggs school. Jefferson Township Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten registration will be held at the Milton School and the Ellen T.

Briggs School in Jefferson Township from March 4 to 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your child need not be present during registration. Only those children who will be five years of age before Oct. 1 will be eligible to enter kindergarten in Sept.
