Dennis Gerber Gerber, who served one term from 1989-92, is seeking to rejoin the board after failing to retain his seat in 1992. He said the biggest concern facing the Board of Education is the physical condition of the township's five schools. "The board is about to go out and bond to upgrade our facilities," said Gerber, 49. Incumbents Alex Yoda and John Brodie are not seeking re-election, thus guaranteeing that the nine-member board will welcome at least two new faces. When residents go to the polls on April 18, they also will be asked to approve a $160,000 0 to bring our schools up to today's standards. They need major work." Gerber is the chief financial officer for the borough of Lincoln Park. He said his financial experience, as well as his past board experience, better allow him to understand the points of view of residents when it comes to school matters. "I feel I can mix all sides together," he said.

PLEASE SEE BOE, PAGE 100 Body found, identity is determined BY CHRIS NEIDENBERG Staff Writer FAIR LAWN A 34-year-old borough man was found dead near the Fair Lawn All-Sports Association building last Friday morning and authorities have been trying to determine the exact cause of death, police reported.

Police said they found the body of Peter White III at about 8:15 a.m., lying on the ground near the building, in the Dobrow Complex off Harristown Road. Lt. Jeffrey Welsh said authorities were still trying to determine the exact cause of death, as of Monday afternoon. "The Bergen County Medical Examiner has not yet released a toxicological report," Welsh said, speaking at that time. He added that police also had no information at that time as to why White, described in an obituary as a self-employed carpet installer, might have been in the complex.

"There were no signs that the body was abused," Welsh said. At press time, authorities were ruling out foul play. The matter had been forwarded to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, which had declined to get further involved in the case, due to the apparent nature of White's death. "We do not believe this is a matter we need to be involved in at the present time," is all First Assistant Prosecutor James Santulli would say on Monday. Santangelo Funeral Home of Lodi was handling funeral arrangements.
