48 Police Beat si Home burglaries CO CM CM NICK MESSINASTAFF PHOTOGRAPHER Autumn accident A single vehicle accident sent a woman driver to the hospital on Nov. 8. The accident took place on Plaza Road approximately 125 yards north of the Berdan Avenue intersection. Fire, ambulance and police were dispatched, along with local paramedics. who lives on Thorton Drive accidentally drove his Chevy Camaro off the road onto a residential lawn, hitting a parked car and a gate.

After administering a sobriety test, police charged the juvenile with underage drinking and operating a vehicle while under the influence. Outstanding warrant HALED0N On Nov. 2, Officer Bryan Smith and Lieutenant Luis Mercuro recognized a suspect from Wayne who had a warrant out for his arrest. Smith and Mercuro arrested Arthur Debruyker, 35, as he was existing a bus on the corner of West Broadway and Chamberlain Avenue. Debruyker was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of a hypodermic needle.

He was transported to Passaic County Jail pending his court date. Attempted burglary HALED0N On Nov. 5, a Barbour Street resident said he awoke to a noise in his apartment. Upon surveying the apartment, he noticed the backdoor ajar and someone running down the back stairs of the house. Nothing was reported missing.

The incident is under investigation. Collision GARFIELD Five people were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center Oct. 4, after a head on collision at Outwater Lane and Walnut Street. Police officers Shawn Delahanty, Michael Marsh, and Sgt. Ron Polonkay responded to the call at 3:19 p.m.

The Jaws of Life extracted two of the accident victims. FAIR LAWN On Oct. 29, three borough homes were burglarized. Between 11 a.m. and 2:40 p.m., an Elizabeth Street residence was reported broken into.

According to the report, the side door had been forced open and $1,600 in cash and a DVD player were stolen. An Elaine Terrace residence was broken into between 8 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. According to the report, the burglar or burglars entered through an unlocked sliding patio door and stole several thousand dollars worth of property. At 6:03 p.m., a burglary was reported on High Street.

According to the report, the suspect or suspects climbed atop an air-conditioning unit, entered through a bathroom window in the rear of the home, and took $850 in cash. Car break-in FAIR LAWN According to police, a car that was parked in the driveway of a 33rd Street residence was broken into between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Oct. 29.

A car radio, CD player and 15 CDs were reported stolen. Warrant arrests FAIR LAWN On Oct. 30 at 9:57 a.m., Michael Pacel-la, 19, of 20th Street was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Elmwood Park. According to the report, Officer Paul Scott found Pacella on Fair Lawn Avenue by the Plaza Building. He was turned over to the Elmwood Park Police Department.

On Oct. 31 at 9:13 a.m., Josachet Tecat, 28, of Pater-son, was arrested by Officer Paul Scott after the officer discovered that there was a warrant out for Tecat's arrest from Wanaque. Tecat was brought to Fair Lawn Police Headquarters and then turned over to the Wanaque Police Department. Illegal possession FAIR LAWN On Oct. 30 at 11:25 p.m., James Gerard Hill, 18, of West Amsterdam Avenue, was charged with illegal possession of handcuffs, after Officer Donald Mac Isaac discovered them in Hill's vehicle during a motor vehicle stop, police said.

Hill was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in court. Attempted burglary SADDLE BROOK On Nov. 7 at 2:20 p.m., an Oxford Avenue juvenile called police to report someone was trying to break down the rear door of the home. The boy told police that, while looking out his window, he could see a white male with brown hair wearing a red and blue flannel shirt at his door. When the police arrived on the scene, they observed the suspect trying to flee on a bicycle.

The suspect then dumped the bicycle and ran. Officer Thomas Johnson arrested Robert Grembowiec, 38, of Colonial Avenue, and charged him with attempted burglary and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $5,000 with no 10 percent option. He posted bail and was released pending his court date. Car break-ins SADDLE BROOK On Oct.

31 at 8:20 a.m., a Piatt Avenue resident called police to report a burglary. Authorities say the resident reported that sometime between 4 and 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, his 1999 Mercedes was entered while parked at a Mayhill Street shopping center and items were removed. According to the report, the vehicle was left unlocked.

A Kenneth Cole bag, a Hewlett Packard calculator, two ball pens, some com pact discs and a Verizon cellular phone were reported missing. The value for the items was approximately $495. Student burglar NORTH HALED0N On Oct. 30, police apprehended a juvenile who was allegedly responsible for a burglary that occurred at Easter Christian High School on Oct. 2.

The school keys, a two-way radio, checks and assorted papers were recovered. Mailbox vandalism NORTH HALED0N At 10:23 p.m. on Oct. 30, a Terrace Avenue resident reported his mailbox was knocked off the post. The mailbox and the post were damaged.

The incident is under investigation. Underage drinking NORTH HALED0N At 12:27 a.m. on Nov. 5, police said, a 17-year old juvenile.
