22 Obituaries CO Stephen Kiraly un CM Josephine Piechota WALLINGTON Josephine Piechota, 78, died May 5. She had been an office worker for Uniroyal Passaic. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wallington. Surviving are two brothers, Frank and Louis Piechota, and a sister, Anne Karr.

Two brothers, Edward and Leon Piechota, and two sisters, Jennie Mayne and Mary Pauly, are deceased. Mass was offered May 10 at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington, handled arrangements. Anthony Spataro Sr.

GARFIELD Anthony H. Spataro 79, died May 10. He owned and operated Spataro Electric, Wyckoff, for 40 years and later worked for the Hol-ley Center, Hackensack, as the head of transportation for 20 years before retiring in 1996. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Name R.C.

Church, Garfield. He was a member and past commander of Wyckoff Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7086, and a life member of Garfield VFW Post 2867. Surviving are his wife, Rose (Giordano); two sons, Anthony H. Jr. of Wilmington, N.C.

and Charles of Elizabethtown, a daughter, Maria Burchfield of Garfield; a sister, Margaret Chanasky of Elmwood Park; four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. A brother, Carl, and a sister, Camille Tobia, are deceased. Mass was offered May 12 at Most Holy Name Church, with interment in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Peter Amadio GARFIELD Peter E. Amadio, 78, died May 9. Before retiring in 1995, he owned Amadio Plumbing Heating, Garfield, for 35 years. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Clifton. He was a parishioner of St.

Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Lodi. Surviving are his wife, Sara (Miserendino); a son, Peter J. of Garfield; a daughter, Susan Ciup-pa of Clifton; three grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Amadio of Towaco. Mass was offered May 12 at St.

Francis de Sales R.C. Church, with interment in St. Francis Cemetery. Alesso Funeral Home, Lodi, handled arrangements. Cira Costa Cira Sclafani Costa, 71, of Albrightville, formerly of Garfield, died May 10.

She was born in Bolognetta, Italy. Before retiring in 1985, was employed by Supercraft Garment, Garfield, where she was a clothes presser for 20 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, Garfield. She was a member of I.L.G.W.U.

Passaic Local. Surviving are a son, Vincent of Stroudsburg, Pa; two daughters, Paola Rupakas of Albrightville and Angela Armas of Garfield; four brothers, Giuseppe Sclafani of Italy, Ciro Sclafani of Paterson, Carmelo Sclafani of Staten Island and Salvatore Sclafani of Michigan; two sisters, Maria LoBianco of Staten Island and Antonina Liv-oti of Lodi; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Natale, died in 1990. Mass was offered May 13 at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.

Aloia Funeral Home, Garfield, handled Teresa Freitas GARFIELD Teresa Mendosa Freitas, 97, died May 11. She was born in Portugal. She was a self-employed dressmaker in Portugal for 44 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Garfield.

Surviving are a son, Fernando of Portugal; two daughters, Arlete Ferreira of Portugal and Maria Freitas of Garfield; a sister, Zita Mendosa of Portugal; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Francisco, and two sons, Cecilio Vares and Giberto Vares, are deceased. Mass was offered May 14 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Aloia Funeral Home, Garfield, handled arrangements.

William O'Shea ROCHELLE PARK William F. O'Shea 90, died May 9. Before retiring, he owned O'Shea Fuel Service, Rochelle Park. He had been a member and former chief of the Rochelle Park Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a member of the Exempt Firemen's Association and chairman of its fund drive. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC.

Church, Rochelle Park. Surviving are a son, William F. Jr. of Rochelle Park; a daughter, Kathleen Busam of St. Louis, four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

His wife, Helen (Nell), died in 1996. Mass was offered May 13 at Sacred Heart Church, with entombment in Garden of Memories. Memorial donations to Tomorrows Children's Fund, Hackensack University Medical Center, 30 Prospect Hackensack 07601, would be appreciated. WALLINGTON Stephen W. Kiraly, 65, died May 10.

Before retiring in 1992, he was an electrician for 35 years and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 400, Wall Township. He was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Wallington. Surviving are a son, Russell a daughter, Stephanie Grubowski; a brother, William Kiraly; and four grandchildren. Services were May 13 at Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington, with cremation at Cedar Lawn Crematory, Paterson.

Floyd Simmons Floyd L. Simmons, 87, of The Villages, formerly of May-wood, died May 3. Before retiring, he was a business promotion manager for Best He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. Timothy R.C.

Church and a member of the American Legion, both in Lady Lake, a member of New Jersey Club, The Villages; AARP Chapter 4432, Lady Lake; NARFE Chapter 2234, Lady Lake; and the Hungarian American Club of The Villages. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor (Raica); two sons, Alan J. of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. and Paul J. of Cas-selberry, a daughter, Frances Schouten of Ringwood; a brother, Edward of Millville; two sisters, Lillian Belfanti of Sunbury, Pa.

and Celeste Persing of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mass was offered May 9 at St. Timothy Church, with interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bush-nell. Kuczik Schuster, formerly of Garfield, died May 9. Surviving are a son, Ted Toth; a daughter, Jane Perrapato; a brother, Robert Kuczik; a sister, Lillian Butts; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Anton, two daughters, Margaret Schuster and Evelyn; a sister, Irene; and a brother, Andrew Kuczik, are deceased. Mass was offered May 12 at St. Anne's R.C.

Church, with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn, handled arrangements. Sophie Sondey WALLINGTON Sophie D. Sudol Sondey, 79, died May 10.

Before retiring in 1957, she was a needle inspector for Becton Dickinson East Rutherford, where she worked for 10 years. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Wallington, and a member of the Wallington Senior Citizens. Surviving are her husband, John two sons, Casmir and John a brother, Steven Sudol; and a granddaughter. Three brothers, John, Stanley and William Sudol, and a sister, Bertha Fila, are deceased.

Mass was offered May 13 at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Kamienski Funeral Home, Wallington, handled arrangements. Johanne Hollasch W00D-RIDGE Johanne Det-tling Hollasch, 98, formerly of Garfield, died April 13. She was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1927.

Before retiring in 1965, she was a dressmaker and co-owner of Hillside Cleaners Tailoring, Wood-Ridge. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and Ladies Guild, both in Hasbrouck Heights. She was a member of the 60-Plus Club, Wood-Ridge.
